ABOUT US
Organic Accuracy
In proposing 'Life Fabric', we endeavor to explain our actions with sincerity. This corporate quality is achieved through disclosure of all safety and environmental data from procurement of raw materials through to the final product. Our fabric, properly managed in a well organized environment, boasts industrial grade precision while still being organic. Touch it and you will feel the wealth of nature and a reassuring, high quality warmth.
TO THE REALISTIC NEXT LEVEL OF ORGANIC
A world where organic is the norm. We propose Life Fabric to reach this goal, aiming for a new generation of organic. IKEUCHI ORGANIC has three action guidelines to create a realistic new organic style that is beautiful, new, visionary, and has no environmental burden.
1.Eco Conscious Safety
To make nature's bounty into fabric products with assurance of safety, we verify human and environmental safety of the total manufacturing process based on evaluation standards of a third party organization. The certified organic cotton we use as a raw material has passed strict EU accreditation criteria involving review of conditions from the fields through spinning factories and even the working conditions of producers. It is produced under management of the bioRe PROJECT by Swiss company REMEI which aims to support community independence. The dyeing process employs ozone bleaching and world class wastewater treatment facilities, with the whole process powered by wind generated green electricity. This detailed consideration of impact on the natural environment enables us to achieve minimum environmental burden. The final product of this endeavor passes Class 1 of global textile safety standard OEKO-TEX standard 100. We assure ultimate safety, proven 'safe enough for a baby's mouth'.
2.Human Driven
At the root of IKEUCHI ORGANIC manufacturing is human energy. These products are created by people. People who are our partners, from farmers growing organic cotton to workers in the factories. They are also people who have their own lives. We create fabric driven by the happiness of energetic people who laugh, cry, express joy and anger. Towards an innovative organic future. Since starting business as a towel factory in Imabari, Ehime in 1953 we have experienced many encounters and farewells, and plan to keep on making organic fabric drawing on the inspiration of many more people. We value character in all of our products. From the sweat of the workers to the smile of retail staff, it's all part of the fabric of our products.
3.Eco Comfort Precision
Knowing IKEUCHI ORGANIC is knowing the latest in organic. That is how we endeavor to be. In order to achieve this, we inform the world of our annual progress, environmental action, the condition of the cultivation fields, and the latest developments of the organic world. We base our decisions regarding safety and the environment on facts, not emotions, and disclose relevant data. Organic fabric created this way has a precise and sure quality. Through simplicity and reducing waste we make premium textiles that bring precision to organic.

FROM COTTON NOUVEAU TO WATER WELLS
ONE EACH YEAR,
FOR A BETTER LIFE
Cotton Nouveau is a towel to be enjoyed like wine. A portion of sales from Cotton Nouveau towels are put towards building wells in Tanzania, where organic cotton is produced. Organic cotton production is booming in Tanzania. However during the dry season rivers dry up forcing people in many areas to travel long distances to get clean water.
Every year out of appreciation to the organic cotton farmers we build one new well to improve infrastructure for safe, clean water. Since Cotton Nouveau was released in 2011 we have donated a part of the sales to Swiss company REMEI which is currently planning the fourth well to be built with these funds. We aim to build 20 wells over 20 years to support the lives of organic cotton farmers and their communities.
